Intertek is approved by GOEIC to issue the mandatory Certificate of Inspection (CoI) for exports of Regulated Products to Egypt

The Egypt Conformity Assessment Programme (ECAP) is governed by Decree 991/2015, Decree 43/2016, Decree 44/2019, Decree 195/2022 and Decree 403/2022. These Decrees introduced significant changes to the import clearance procedure and also the expansion of the list of Regulated Products. Manufacturers or Trademark Owners of Regulated Products must register with Egypt’s General Organization of Export and Import Control (GOEIC) to export to Egypt prior to applying for a Certificate of Inspection (CoI) with one of the Certification Bodies approved by GOEIC.

The Regulated Product list now includes (but is not limited to):

  • Textiles & Footwear
  • Electricals
  • Health and Beauty products
  • Sanitary ware
  • Toys
  • Tableware and Kitchenware
  • Lighting products
  • Household chemicals
  • Mechanical products
  • Construction and Building products

Certificate of Inspections (CoI's) are mandatory for Customs clearance at Egyptian Ports and Borders for all shipments of Regulated Products.
