Enforcement timelines of recently published Technical Regulations

Saudi Product Safety Programme Saleem Technical Regulations enforcement

The following Technical Regulations (TRs) published in the Saudi Gazette on 20th May 2022 will be strictly enforced starting from 20th November 2022 onwards (i.e. 6 months after the publication date). 

• Strollers and Child restraint systems (TR No. MA-184-22-06-01-02)
• Escalators and moving walkways  (TR No. MA-184-22-06-01-01)

SASO has also published the following new TRs in the Saudi Gazette on 23rd September 2022 which will be strictly enforced starting from 23rd March 2023 onwards (i.e. 6 months after the publication date). 

• Simple Pressure Vessels (TR No. MA-186-22-07-02-02)
• Ornaments and accessories (TR No. MA-186-22-07-02-01)

Product Certificates of Conformity (P-CoCs) and Shipment Certificates of Conformity (S-CoCs) already issued in SABER for products covered under the scope of these recently published TRs will continue to remain valid until their expiry.  However, Exporters are encouraged to take preparatory measures in advance to submit qualifying documents that comply with the requirements of these TRs to Intertek before the enforcement dates of the TRs.
