Exports of Ceramic Tiles to Saudi Arabia require SASO Quality Mark
Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Org (SASO). in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made an important announcement regarding the implementation of the mandatory SASO Quality Mark (QM) for Ceramic/Porcelain Tiles from 13th September 2019.
Manufacturers and Exporters of Ceramic/Porcelain tiles to KSA will need to undergo the Certification process as per the updated requirements of the Technical Regulation M.A-161-17-07-03 for “Building Materials - Part 4: Bricks, Tiles, Ceramics, Sanitaryware and Related Products”. The SASO QM Certificate can be obtained by applying through SASO’s JEEM portal http://jeem1.saso.gov.sa.
Upon obtaining the SASO QM Certificate, the Importer can apply for Product Certificate of Conformity (P-CoC) and Shipment Certificate of Conformity (S-CoC) on SASO’s SABER Platform. Shipments of Ceramic/Porcelain tiles without the mandatory SASO QM and SABER generated CoCs will be denied clearance at KSA Customs from its implementation date.
