Exporting/Importing to Saudi Arabia – Enforcement of new Standards for certain Electrical Appliances from 21st Feb 2022

Further to our previous announcements regarding the Saudi Product Safety Programme (SPSP) for Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organisation (SASO) has issued a circular to all Certification Bodies (CBs) providing clarification on the below listed new Standards for certain Electrical Appliances.

These Standards were published in the Saudi Gazette No. 4896 dated 20th August 2021 and will be enforced from 21st February 2022. 

  • SASO IEC 60335-2-21:2021 for Electric Storage Water Heaters
  • SASO IEC 60335-2-30:2021 for Electric Room Heaters
  • SASO 2815:2021 for Electric Cord Extension Sets
