Regulatory Update for Exports of Cosmetics and Perfume to Egypt
Manufacturers and Exporters of Cosmetic and Perfumery products to Egypt are hereby informed regarding amendments to Decree No. 991/2015 and 43/2016 to classify certain Cosmetic products as non-regulated products under the Egypt Conformity Assessment Programme (ECAP) as they are under the scope of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA).
Therefore, a Certificate of Inspection (CoI) will not be required for shipments of such Cosmetic products. View the list of all such Cosmetic products that are non-regulated under ECAP and do not require the CoI.
Furthermore, the following Perfumery products covered by the scope of Egyptian Standard ES 3570/2022 will continue to remain under the ECAP and shipments of such Perfumery products will require a CoI for its Customs clearance at Egyptian ports and borders:
- Perfume liquids
- Eau de Perfume
- Eau de Toilette
- Cologne
- Eau de Cologne
- Body splash/body mist/perfume spray
- After shave cologne
- Perfumed oil for direct use
