Regulated Product List for Botwana Expanded from 1st January 2020

Botswana Bureau of Standards expands regulated product list, effective 1st January 2020

The Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) has recently announced a revised “Regulated Product List” under Botswana Standards Import Inspections Regulations (SIIR) programme.

The revised Regulated Product (RP) List includes new products from the below product groups: 

• Electrical and Electronics
• Protective Safety Equipment
• Food and Food Products 

The implementation of the revised SIIR Regulated Product List will be effective from 1st January 2020. Exporters/Importers will be required to obtain Conformity Certificates for the additional products included under the scope of Botswana SIIR from approved Certification Bodies, such as Intertek, for facilitating clearance of their Shipments at Botswana Ports/Borders.
