Intertek’s Laboratory Health Check can be used as a tool to provide detailed and independent insight into areas for improvement in offshore and onshore laboratories to provide assurance of regulatory compliance, mitigate risk and achieve operational efficiencies.

Our experts help onshore and offshore laboratories to achieve operational efficiency thorough a comprehensive review of on-site laboratory management, focusing mainly on:

  • Continuous improvement
  • Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Operational efficiencies
  • Risk assurance
  • Best practices
How Laboratory Health Checks work?

The Laboratory Health Check requires 7 to 8 days on site and is carried out by an experienced and qualified Intertek expert. The key deliverables of the exercise are to:
  • Review key aspects of laboratory management and delivery
  • Highlight perceived shortfalls in relation to HSE, operational, technical, integrity or commercial matters associated with laboratory activity
  • Provide assurance where critical deliverables are well controlled and managed
  • Identify and document key findings
  • Provide the client with clear visibility of opportunities for improvement
  • Empower a proactive approach to laboratory management in an offshore environment
  • Enable the asset to mitigate risks associated with regulatory non-compliance
Intertek, as a Total Quality Assurance (TQA) provider, undertakes the health check as an independent third-party organisation. The findings and opportunities for improvement identified are based entirely upon a combination of observations made and conversations conducted by Intertek staff.

On completion of the site based activity, observations and findings are collated into a summary report, which is submitted to the client. Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) are presented, categorized and tabulated for ease of viewing and interpretation.

Intertek tracks activity and, where practical, offers solutions to help close OFIs, through routine communications and follow-up visits, providing tangible evidence of progress and improvements achieved.

Intertek Laboratory Health Checks will help you to:
  • Provide an independent review of key aspects of laboratory management and delivery
  • Highlight OFIs in relation to HSE, operational, technical, integrity or commercial matters associated with laboratory activity
  • Provide assurance where critical deliverables are well controlled and managed
  • Identify and document key findings for visibility
  • Enable the client to minimise risks associated with regulatory non-compliance
  • Empower a proactive approach to laboratory management in an offshore environment
