Intertek is a leading provider of certification for wireless network technology. As such we have the equipment and experience to test many of the industry and operator standards and can help you with pre-certification testing before you submit your wireless device for formal certification.
We are an accredited testing laboratory for all major LTE, CDMA, UMTS (WCDMA), and GSM certification schemes, and can conduct pre-certification testing for all 4G, 3G, and 2G wireless products, including smartphones, feature phones, modules, IoT (M2M) devices, wireless routers, hotspots, tablets, laptops, infrastructure equipment, and more.
Online Access
Pre-Certification testing services utilize Intertek’s Information and Communication Nexus (ICON) for online access. Upon ICON account creation and authentication, customers have Internet web-based access to test data and results for their projects.
Pre-Certification Testing
- Pre-certification testing includes a highly reduced subset of normal certification tests targeting specific trouble areas generally seen across the industry. However, the scope of pre-certification testing can be customized to target specific customer needs.
- Pre-certification testing conforms to the normal certification testing process – perform the subset of tests and provide the customer with results and log files.
- Pre-certification testing cannot guarantee a device will pass future certification; however, pre-certification testing can detect common problems and alert the customer of the need to seek solutions to better prepare for certification.
Data Throughput: Pre-certification testing to measure achieved data rates of the device under typical network and radio conditions.
Protocol Conformance: Pre-certification testing to measure device functionality under typical network and radio conditions.
Radio Frequency (RF): Pre-certification testing to measure transmitter and receiver performance of the device under typical network and radio conditions.
Radio Resource Management (RRM): Pre-certification testing of the RRM to check that the control ability of the device is operating properly.
Voice over LTE (VoLTE): Pre-certification testing to measure the performance of the voice service being delivered as data flows within the LTE data bearer.
A-GNSS Receiver Testing: Pre-certification testing to check the operation of the assisted global navigation satellite system (A-GNSS) within the device.
Carrier Aggregation (CA): Pre-certification testing to measure the capability and performance of the device to combine multiple carriers scattered around the LTE spectrum to achieve wider effective bandwidths up to 100 MHz.
Over-the-Air (OTA) Antenna Performance: Pre-certification testing to measure the radiated RF performance of the device’s multiple antennas for all supported bands and technologies under typical network and radio conditions.
Feature Testing: Pre-certification testing to measure the performance of the device under typical network and radio conditions.
