UL 1995 Testing and Certification

Continued expertise and support for the legacy HVACR safety standard UL 1995 for Heating and Cooling Equipment

UL 1995 / CSA C22.2 No. 236 is a harmonized standard for the United States and Canada for heating and cooling equipment. The scope of the standard covers a broad range of HVACR equipment, including both residential and commercial fan coil units, heat pumps, liquid chillers and more. Much of the UL 1995 4th Edition covers controllers that handle the loads of motors and electric heaters.

Although the standard has a current Date of Withdrawal set for December 31, 2023, some manufacturers are still interested in testing and certifying their equipment to UL 1995 if they aren’t ready to make the leap to the more rigorous UL 60335-2-40.

Intertek is committed to meeting the needs of our customers, providing as much flexibility as possible. And when you’re ready to move ahead with the new standard, we’ll partner with you ever step of the way to ensure a faster, more efficient path to compliance.
