Intertek-PSI Rises to #17 on the ENR Top 500 Design Firms List for 2017

Vol. 115 | May 30, 2017

Intertek-PSI has risen to #17 on the Engineering News Record (ENR) list of the Top 500 Design Firms for 2017.  Intertek-PSI continues to climb the list each year; up two spots since 2016 and up 34 spots since 2015. Moving up to #17, Intertek-PSI is among the top four percent of engineering firms in the U.S.

Intertek has strengthened its position as an A/E/C leader since its acquisition of several US-based engineering and testing firms, most recently including the purchase of PSI. It has become the only single-source provider of building product-related testing and certification as well as construction project-related assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services. With more than a hundred locations across North America, Intertek-PSI provides architects, constructors, and building owners with unparalleled expertise in acoustics and technology consulting, due diligence, geotechnical investigation, environmental and construction services, building sciences, and fire/safety consulting.

“The combination of the Intertek and PSI families is continuing to prove successful and the increase in ENR ranking is further proof of this,” commented Gavin Campbell, Senior Global Vice President of Intertek’s Building & Construction business line.  “As we have grown, so have the expectations from our clients and stakeholders.  We look to this ranking as an indication to our clients that together we are continuing to build a better, stronger business.”

“Taking the leap from being ranked in the 50s to the top 20 was a major accomplishment for our team and our business, but the move from #19 to #17 is just as significant,” says Doug Dayton, P.E., President/COO of Intertek-PSI. “This continued progress is reflective of our growth, our expanded ATIC service offerings, and the momentum we are building in the market. Our entire team celebrates the prestige of earning a top spot on the ENR list and looks ahead to identifying new opportunities to serve our customers that will take us even higher,” he adds.

ENR also ranks Intertek-PSI among top 100 Pure Designers (#3), Designers in International Markets (#11), and top firms by sector: Industrial Process/Petroleum (#6), General Building (#16), Manufacturing (#6), and Power (#17).
