How our Custom Switchboard Builder Program Works

  1. Design to Standard: Build switchboards in accordance with UL 891 and/or CSA C22.2 No. 244, using approved components and following designated design parameters set by these standards.
  2. Quality Control: Implement robust quality control processes to ensure each assembly meets program requirements.
  3. Certification & Marking: Once approved, apply the ETL Listed Mark at your facility to compliant products.
  4. Ongoing Audits: Intertek conducts regular unannounced audits to verify continued compliance and manufacturing quality.
  5. Ongoing Training: When the standards are updated, you will continue to be trained on the updates and how they can affect your products.

Additional Switchboard Certification Services

  • ETL Refurbishment Program: For reconditioned switchboards, Intertek offers the ETL Refurbishment Certification program ensuring compliance with the National Electric Code (NEC) and the latest safety standards, allowing refurbished products to bear the ETL Refurbished mark.
  • Global Market Access: Intertek provides guidance on international standards and certifications, facilitating broader market access.
  • Field Labels: If you have switchboards already in the field, will make the conformity process easier for you by conducting field evaluations at the installation Intertek site and issue an ETL Field Evaluated Mark. Intertek evaluates your product quickly so that you can obtain fast approval from Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Limited Production Certification: If you are or have built a limited number of switchboards for a specific application and are not looking to certify that construction for future projects, we can make the certification option easier for you by conducting a limited evaluation for just those switchboards and issue a LPC certification.
