The ENERGY STAR® Product Specification for Lamps Version 1.0 has 2 deadlines approaching in 2014.
Intertek’s tip sheet ENERGY STAR® Requirements for Lamps: Quick Tips for Updates to Version 1.0 highlights upcoming deadlines and 7 key changes most important to lighting manufacturers.
To continue labeling products with the ENERGY STAR logo, all existing qualified lamps (“bulbs”) must be re-qualified by an EPA-accredited certification body to the new specification in 2014. Version 1.0 also features clarifications intended to simplify testing and certification.
