Representative samples from flowing fluids in pipelines are critical in the petroleum industry to determine the composition of those fluids for valuation, fiscal allocation, maintenance, and flow/process optimization. Sampling is essential at all phases of the hydrocarbon manufacturing chain from the well head to the refinery. Properly designed and installed Automatic Samplers can deliver a representative sample of the sampling area where they are installed. The question is how representative that area is. Proving using API standard 8.2 & 8.3 is critical to proper design and operation.
Using a Water Injection Testing System designed by WFR, Intertek will be able to provide a self-powered, environmentally controlled unit that eliminates environmental impacts and operator expense. The benefits to the client is quick setup, remote service, with only witnessing required once setup is complete.
