The MSPO Certification Scheme is the national scheme in Malaysia for oil palm plantations, independent and organised smallholdings, and palm oil processing facilities to be certified against the requirements of the MSPO Standards.
Palm oil is the most widely used vegetable oil and a common ingredient found globally in many food and personal care products. Due to the growing populations and demand for products, the need for palm oil has never been higher and is forecasted to increase.
The increased demand for palm oil has created a catalyst effect on the tropical conservation forests, compromising the biodiversity of some ecosystems and contributing to the destruction of species habitats, causing social conflicts between indigenous communities and growers.
MSPO’s objective is “to create, maintain and administer a fund to be used for the purposes of establishing and operating a sustainable palm oil certification scheme in Malaysia”.
Under the current MSPO scheme, there are 3 separate standards, namely:
MSPO 2530-2: Requirements for independent smallholders
MSPO 2530-3: Requirements for oil palm plantations & organized smallholders
MSPO 2530-4: Requirements for palm oil mill

We facilitate you to improve your product reliability and to minimize your business risk. Palm oil products may go through many production and logistical stages between the grower and the end-product and can be traded through different supply chain mechanisms that are approved by MSPO.
In order to be certified, the applicant has to be audited by certifying body against relevant standard(s). MPOCC is appointed as the scheme owner. Further information pertaining to MSPO & MSPO certification process could be sourced from MPOCC webpage.
