Tooth whitening product marketing claims need to be accurate and robust. Learn how clinical evaluations and in vitro studies can support your product development

Manufacturers of tooth whitening products need to have confidence that claims of efficacy and safety are accurate and robust in this expanding market. PART 1 : Clinical Assessments for Tooth Whitening Products

To support the launch of a stain removal or tooth whitening product, clinical trials are often used to substantiate marketing claims and demonstrate that they are safe for consumers. Join us for this webinar by Intertek Clinical Research Services Medical Director, Robert Maclure for an introduction to the concept of tooth whitening and clinical assessments for stain and shade to assess product efficacy. This webinar broadcast took place on the 28th September 2017.

PART 2 : In Vitro and in Situ Support Studies for Tooth Whitening, Stain and Shade.

This webinar will complement our first instalment in this series and look at how laboratory instruments can be used to measure the colour and staining of teeth. In vitro models can be created using extracted human teeth or even bovine enamel blocks as an alternative substrate. Peter will give some examples of how relatively simple experimental designs can generate support for oral care products such as toothpastes, mouthwashes and whitening kits. We shall also take a look at in situ studies which can measure tooth whitening benefits in a more clinically relevant setting.
