Intertek is an approved body Accredited to ISO/IEC 17065 to provide UKCA product conformity certification following our UKAS Schedule of accreditation #0010
The UKCA Mark
The UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) mark is the United Kingdom (UK) product mark that can be used for certain goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (GB - England, Wales and Scotland), following the UK’s exit from the European Union (EU). The UKCA Mark will in time replace the CE mark and covers most goods that previously required CE marking.
To use the UK mark, businesses must ensure their products for the GB market are tested and certified by a UK-approved body. This applies to products that comply with a designated standard or meet the requirements of a UK technical assessment issued for that product.
UPDATE: 2nd September 2024
On 2 September 2024 the Minister for Building Safety and Homelessness issued a Written Ministerial Statement regarding recognition of the Conformité Européenne (CE) marking for construction products. The previously stated deadline of 30 June 2025 for CE marking recognition in Great Britain has now been revoked.
The UK Construction Products Regulations (CPR)
Since the UK left the EU, all existing harmonized European standards have become UK Designated Standards. If your product is not covered by a designated standard, it may be covered by a technical assessment document instead. UK Technical assessment bodies are now responsible for drawing up and, in agreement with the Secretary of State, adopting UK assessment documents.
