US-California Proposition 65 Updates

California Proposition 65 requires the Governor's office to publish a list of chemicals known by the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. The purpose is to improve public health by reducing exposure to these chemicals that cause cancer and adverse reproductive outcomes.
The restriction on cocamide diethanolamine (cocamide DEA) was added to the list of chemicals recently. cocamide DEA is a substance commonly used in soaps and body washes. Retailers and manufacturers of soaps and body washes would need to ensure that the exposure of cocamide DEA from their products would not pose any significant risks. In additional, an overview of the recent settlements is provided below.*
