State of Washington Adopts Amendment to Children’s Safe Products Act: Reporting Rule
Vol. 737 | November 06, 2013
Washington Children’s Safe Products Act – Reporting Rule, Chapter 173-334 WAC, requires manufacturers of children’s products, under certain conditions, to report for the Chemicals of High Concern to Children (CHCC). The deadline for reporting is phased in based on the size of the manufacturer and the product tier.
On October 22, 2013, the Department of Ecology for the State of Washington adopted amendment to the rule [1] which makes following revisions to the CHCC list:
- Remove n-butanol (CAS # 71-36-3) from the reporting list of chemicals.
- Add tris(1,3-dichloro-2-propyl)phosphate (TDCPP) (CAS # 13674-87-8) to the reporting list of chemicals.
The changes to the rule become effective on November 22, 2013. The projected due date for first reports under the revised rule for TDCPP is February 28, 2015.
Below is a complete list of CHCCs based on the recent amendment (accurate as of November 5, 2013). It can also be found at:
