Companies concerned about disclosing their interest in a particular substance through participation in REACH Substance Information Exchange Fora (SIEF) or Consortia and meeting all the complicated requirements of REACH, can appoint a Third Party Representative to act on their behalf.

The EU’s REACH Regulation is one of the most comprehensive chemicals legislations worldwide. Manufacturers and importers of chemicals to the EU have until December 1, 2008 to pre-register their products. At the time of REACH pre-registration the identity of the potential registrant will be disclosed to all potential registrants of the substance(s) pre-registered under the same identity code as well as to potential registrants of all other substances for which read-across possibilities have been indicated.
