Standard: ANSI/NALFA LF-01 Section 3.10 – Surface Bond

Certification Required: Required for the NALFA Certification Seal

Scope: Per ANSI/NALFA LF-01 Section 3.10: "This test measures the force required to delaminate or split away the surface of laminate flooring plank or tile."

Applicable Products: Laminate flooring

Test Procedure: Specimens are cut to size and a circular groove is cut into the specimen face to a depth of 0.0 to 0.3mm into the core. A test pad is adhered to the circular section and allowed to fully cure. After the adhesive is cured a tensile tester is used to apply a tensile load at a constant speed such that delamination occurs within 30 to 90 seconds. The force at failure and the location of failure are recorded.

End Result: This test results in the surface bond value for each specimen as well as the overall average. The location of failure is also recorded.
