For food service and retail facilities at the end of the supply chain, it is a critical challenge to ensure that only safe and quality food is supplied to customers.
IFS Food Store is a recognised and accepted inspection standard created to specifically evaluate the safety of food products in retail facilities. Its goal is to establish a common standard for multisite organisations with a uniform evaluation system and to ensure comparability and transparency between stores at the same company and amongst retailers.
The standard evaluates food safety at various stages, from best hygiene practices and retailer health control plans to the current regulatory requirements for each of your destination countries. It can be adapted to suit the individual needs of your business, delivered by our industry-leading team of auditors. It aims to:
- Establish a common standard for food safety and quality
- Ensure comparability amongst stores in multisite, international organisations
- Reduce risk for food retailers
- Provide an opportunity to demonstrate legal compliance to official control authorities
Intertek has been accredited to inspect the food safety system in place in each store according to the IFS Food Store requirements.
