The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) verifies that supply chains do not produce unnecessary environmental harm and have a positive impact on the people and communities associated with its activities. Intertek contributes data and resources to support the Higg Index, which gauges environmental sustainability and drives supply chain decision-making to improve efficiency and sustainability impact. The Higg Index is an open source, indicator-based tool that allows suppliers, manufacturers, brands, and retailers to evaluate materials, products, facilities, and processes based on environmental and product design choices. As a member of the SAC, Intertek supports its mission of improving the sustainability of supply chains via tools developed by Higg.
