Intertek has developed a 6 Steps Roadmap to help you identify quantitative and qualitative gaps within your organization’s activities as well as efficiency and effectiveness opportunities to comply with the EU’s CSR Directive.

A Gap Assessment is a 360-degree analysis that is performed at both strategic or operational levels within an organization and that addresses two main drivers: Performance – Where are we? and Potential – Where do we want to be? While the Gap Assessment process starts with an inward look at current versus potential performance, it also includes external sources such as industry benchmarks and your market’s competitive landscape to determine your desired state.

From double materiality analysis to ESG reporting, Intertek matter-subject experts will help you assess your corporate sustainability practices, identify any deficiencies/gaps you may have and provide you with a strategic action plan to ensure you are in compliance with the CSRD requirements.

Intertek’s 6 Steps Roadmap to CSRD Compliance

While assuring that your teams acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills to independently develop and maintain the strategic CSRD project at the medium to long term, Intertek Technical team will also guide you throughout the following stages to ensure that your business is in the best position possible to make a successful CSRD submission for your first deadline:

  1. Kick off Meeting: we will agree on the customer’s internal stakeholders and project’s team member as well as will define tasks and responsibilities, and identify where the customer stands for with regard to the CSRD compliance.
  2. Double Materiality Analysis: we will support you on designing a process that reflects both the impact and financial materiality perspectives, as well as the interconnections between the two, including impacts, risks and opportunities (IROs) across environmental, social and governance matters.
  3. Qualitative and quantitative KPIs identification: at this stage, we will define the key indicators in consistency with the outcomes from the materiality analysis and will determine the data collection methods.
  4. Data Collection and Indicators Processing: at this stage, the company will be in charge of collecting the data related to the KPIs identified during the Materiality Analysis, establishing training plans within the organization and determining the internal reporting methodologies integrated with the existing activities.
  5. Policies Definition and Improvement Actions Plan: at this stage, Intertek will evaluate the initial trends detected in the quantitative KPIs as well as will identify the specific management policies and performance targets. After having identified the improvement plans in accordance with the UN SGD Goals, Intertek experts will carry on performance reviews periodically.
