Intertek Announces Advanced Materials Characterization, Failure Analysis, and Problem Solving Expansion
23 Apr 2013
Allentown, PA – Intertek, the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, announces a substantial investment in high end chromatography and spectroscopy capabilities to further expand advanced materials characterization, failure analysis and problem-solving capabilities. Intertek has added a series of new instrumentation to support increasing customer demands including a 500MHz NMR spectrometer, state-of-the-art GC/GCMS, UP/HPLC and LCMS capabilities and expanded extraction tools.
The greater capacity addresses customers’ requirement for rapid response to litigation support needs, raw material or regulatory issues, including REACH and California Proposition 65, plus new capabilities supporting lower detection limits for odor problems, pesticide residues and the like. These investments are further addressing growing needs around reverse engineering and raw material qualification in health and beauty products, specialty and fine chemicals, medical devices and healthcare.
Intertek Allentown specializes in supporting non-routine analytical and problem-solving for customers in many industries. Customers can now further benefit from the breadth of capabilities and expertise available at this specialized location for litigation support, reverse engineering and regulatory support. This analytical research and technology center presents customers a full line of chromatography, NMR, X-ray diffraction, metals analysis, thermal testing, thermal hazards capabilities, rheology and more. These technologies enable rapid cost effective approaches answering the expanding needs and challenges of the various industries served.
"The market and our customers demand further raw material qualification, regulatory support, and expanded failure analysis” stated Dr. Sherri Bassner, Eastern Region Operations Director, Intertek Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals. “These investments in new technology help customers access unique skills as needed without needing to invest in capital and people.”
