Spanish companies put their trust in Intertek for REACH compliance

Spanish manufacturers and importers that did not fulfill the pre-registrations requirements before the deadline of December 1st, 2008, need to urgently register the substances in their products to continue trading in the EU or they should seek alternate compliance options to ensure their business will not be interrupted..
The new REACH law entered into force on June 1, 2007, and affects all producers, manufacturers, importers, retailers, and distributors that work with chemical substances. The law prescribes a number of stages for the registration and submission of data by the private sector companies. The laws impact companies both within and outside of the EU and affects industries as diverse as chemicals and petroleum, energy, pharmaceutical, metals, electronics, aerospace, plastics, textiles, automotive, accessories and toys. Under REACH, all chemical substances in raw material form or contained in products that are either manufactured or imported in the European Union in amounts of over one tonne per year, must be registered with the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency).
Intertek is providing a global program to help the companies in markets around the world fulfill REACH requirements even though they have missed the pre-registration deadline, and support them in meeting the ongoing further stages of compliance and deadlines under the regime.
