By definition, children’s products are consumer products designed or intended primarily for children 12 years of age or younger. This classification is important to note when determining which consumer product rules, regulations and safety standards are relevant to your product. In order to demonstrate compliance with children’s product safety rules, these products must be tested by a CPSC-approved third-party lab, based on which a U.S. manufacturer or an importer of record must create a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC).
