Regulatory extension for the Indian Market: Is your company ready for the new Electrical Appliance Safety deadline?

India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry  has postponed by 12 months the enforcement of the Quality Control Order for the Safety of Household and Commercial Electrical Appliances by 12 months. The new effective date is now 19 March 2026, instead of the  originally planned  March 2025. 
This extension provides additional time to comply with the new requirements under IS 302 (Part 1): 2024 / IEC 60335-1: 2020 standard.
