Intertek, a leading global provider of quality and safety solutions, organised a five-day, IRCA-registered ISO 14001:2004 Lead Auditor Training programme in Dhaka from July 05 to July 09.

The training, designed for both auditors and management representatives, helped participants understand the ISO 14001 standard, stakeholder requirements, and statutory requirements. Participants also gained valuable auditing skills and the knowledge of how to apply the standard in even the most complex of situations.

Growing scrutiny toward industry's environmental management has made conformance with ISO 14001:2004 - a voluntary, internationally recognized environment management systems (EMS) standard - more important than ever. Intertek’s EMS Lead Auditor Training provides attendees with the necessary knowledge to master the special management skills an EMS auditor needs per the guidelines of ISO 19011 ("Guidelines for quality and/or environmental management systems auditing"). The training course is designed by international specialists in the field of EMS auditing, involving modern accelerated learning techniques. After successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to plan, conduct, and report an EMS audit.

"The EMS training programme provides an understanding of the principles and practices of EMS auditing, through practical training on environmental auditing skills," said Mr. Prodipto Basu Roy, General Manager, Systems Certification, Intertek India. “Our training programmes offer face-to-face interaction with renowned technical experts and auditing specialists. These programmes provide delegates with important insights that they can bring back to their organisations to enhance brand value, improve market performance, and create a competitive advantage,” he added.

Intertek has partnered with Training Solutions International (TSi), U.K. to conduct lead auditor training courses for the ISO 14001, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 22000 standards. TSi training courses are certified by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) as meeting internationally established guidelines and objectives.
