Embracing the spirit of giving

Around the world, religious occasions are often characterised by generosity and the coming together of communities.
During Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a time for fasting, prayer, reflection and community, our colleagues in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, embodied this spirit. Through the team’s generous contributions, 133 Iftar boxes were prepared, containing enough food to feed a family in need for iftar – the fast-breaking evening meal – and distributed in partnership with Sharjah Charity International.
In Morocco, our country team carried this giving spirit into Eid Al Fitr, the holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, by volunteering during a clothing distribution initiative. The initiative gave 30 children from modest backgrounds the opportunity to choose new Eid outfits, with our colleagues on hand to offer as much support as necessary.
These initiatives brought additional joy to many families during an already special time, as well as highlighting how culturally tailored corporate social responsibility projects can deliver a truly meaningful impact to our communities.
