Improving access to healthcare in rural India

During a visit to India in October, André Lacroix, our CEO, and Tony George, our Executive Vice President Human Resources, officially opened Arogya, a new mobile health unit ('MHU') in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. The unit offers preventive and curative healthcare to more than 35,000 people across 20 villages, including remote and inaccessible areas where basic healthcare is often limited.

Arogya MHU has been fully equipped with the general outpatient services, equipment and medicines needed for early diagnosis and effective patient management. The unit is designed to offer inclusive and affordable healthcare in addition to a reliable doctor-patient follow-up system, ensuring timely treatment for those in need. It will also serve to enhance local awareness of best practices around health and hygiene, with the aim of combating the prevalence of diseases and other ailments in the region.
