3rd Annual conference features experts from a wide range of technology, entertainment, and start-up topics.

Los Angeles, CA - Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world, today announced that it will be participating in the 2014 Silicon Beach Conference at the University of Southern California (USC) on October 29th. Matthew Nelson, Intertek’s Software Business Development Manager, will join a roundtable discussion at the conference titled “The Future of Mobile: Apps, Content & Services” and provide insights on the value of testing and quality assurance in software and mobile apps.

The Silicon Beach conference, now in its third year, was created by The Institute for Communication Technology Management (CTM) and is hosted by the USC’s Marshall School of Business and School of Cinematic Arts on the USC campus. More than 1,000 thought leaders from the Entertainment industry, technology startups and academia have attended the conferences since it began in 2012. Conference attendees are also invited to attend the Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year Award Ceremony featuring Aaron Levie, CEO of Box.

Individuals joining Mr. Nelson on the speaking panels and roundtable discussions include James Segil, CMO Verizon Digital Media Services / Co-Founder & President at EdgeCast Networks Inc.; Eric Reed, Vice President, Entertainment & Tech Policy, State Public Affairs, Policy & Communications, Verizon; Mark Goldin, CTO, Cornerstone OnDemand; Ryan Ozonian, co-founder & President, Cyber Dust; Jonathan Adelstein, President & CEO, PCIA; and many more exciting and distinguished guests. “The value of our expertise in software and mobile app testing will last longer than one afternoon at a conference,” stated Mr. Nelson. “The performance and usability of your software and mobile app is a direct reflection of your brand. A customer’s user experience in this increasingly important touch-point can either enhance or directly hurt your reputation in the market. Worst-case it can cost you a customer.”

Mr. Nelson will have an opportunity to discuss three of the most pressing issues of the day: speed to market, connected devices (in the home, car, mHealth, e-wallet, etc.), and media streaming and content (especially as it relates to regulatory concerns). Learn what some of the industry leaders are doing today to manage these critical issues, and what you can do in the future to be sure you stay ahead of the curve.
