Intertek experts will deliver important regulatory updates on foods and food ingredients in the USA and Europe.

[Ontario, Canada] - Intertek (www.intertek.com), the leading provider of quality and safety services to a wide range of industries, is pleased to announce their participation at Japan's International Food Ingredient and Additives Exhibition and Conference (IFIA 2014), in Tokyo, Japan, on May 21 – 23, 2014.

Due to the sharp rise in food raw materials price, the demand for additives and alternative ingredients has increased and interest from the food industry's product developers and supply-chain buyers is at an all-time high. IFIA is supported by government ministries and trade commissions, international industry associations, and Japanese research centres.  The event is estimated to have over 400 exhibitors, and is expected to attract approximately 34,000 visitors from around the world.

Ms. Naoko Kaburagi, consultant for Intertek Scientific & Regulatory Consultancy, has been asked to share her knowledge of regulatory processes for the food industry during this event.  Her presentation will be delivered on May 22, 2014 and is entitled: "Government Approval of Foods and Food Ingredients in the USA and EU". "Food companies find it a challenge keeping up with the growing number and ever-changing nature of food additive and ingredient regulations in countries around the world" says regulatory expert, Ms. Naoko Kaburagi.  "Although there are a wide variety of information sources, there are very few events as large and as impressive as IFIA in which a significant number of world-class experts come together in a single location to deliver direct and practical experience from around the globe."  Ms. Kaburagi further states, "As a participant in this event, I will be providing attendees with valuable insight into legislative requirements, useful tips to help achieve regulatory compliance, and valuable advice for avoiding pitfalls and inefficiencies. I am pleased and honoured to support this event by providing a comparison of the government approval processes in the USA and EU."

During this event, a representative from Intertek's global team of regulatory experts will be available for consultation at the Intertek exhibition booth #BC1119.  IFIA attendees are encouraged to stop by the Intertek booth to discuss their company's specific requirements and to find out how Intertek's experts can deliver support and success.  To learn more about the food and nutrition services offered by our scientific and regulatory consultants and from the larger Intertek organization, please visit https://www.intertek.com/food/consulting/.
