During the spring, Intertek has upgraded its test facilities with new state of the art equipment to test to new regulatory standards for wireless communication equipment.

The test facility, accredited by Swedish accreditation body Swedac, has been extended and equipped with a new test system, the first of its kind in operation in Sweden. Supplier of the test system is Rohde & Schwarz.

The fast development in the area of wireless communication has thoroughly changed the game for manufacturers. The increased use of new technologies, such as Wifi, Bluetooth and Zigbee brings new regulation. Regulatory demands on wireless equipment are currently being overhauled with regards to limits, tests and methodology. The new standard EN 300.238 v1.8.1 replaces the earlier version from January 1, 2015.

"We see great opportunities in the wireless business, and have made substantial investments in technology and expertise to meet the increasing demand for our services,” says Henric Larsson, Manager, Wireless, at Intertek. ”We have added new personnel to our pool of expertise and, in addition, we are very happy to be the first company in Sweden able to offer accredited testing according to EN 300 328 V1.8 and EN 301 893 v1.7.”
