Intertek launches new composites innovation and quality control services during JEC 2014 exhibition.

Geleen, Netherlands – Intertek, the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, will launch its new composites testing centre to support industry innovation and quality control during JEC 2014 in Paris, France.
Composite materials have taken an increasing role in enabling industrial application designers and engineers to improve technology and reduce weight. As the range of applications call for a scale-up in component size and volume, so the composites industry, its intermediates and affiliated end-markets are facing many challenges in product innovation and quality control. This has led to a growing demand for independent test centres where the expertise and specialist equipment required is available on demand on a turnkey, project-by-project basis.
In response to this increasing demand by the composites industry for independent, high level, ‘on demand’ test centres in North America and Europe, Intertek has followed the July 2010 expansion of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts laboratory, with the creation of an European composites test centre, as part of its polymer testing laboratory in Geleen. This expansion enables Intertek to support its major client programmes in both North America and Europe with a coherent and global technical capability. Details of the full scope of this new capability and the global offering in advanced materials characterization can also be received via Intertek’s experts at the JEC exhibition from 11 March until 13 March in Paris.
