Aware solutions for petroleum and chemical facility inspections
Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, today announced that its Asset Integrity Management (AIM) group has released a new version of their AwareTM asset integrity management software.  Aware Version 13.0 incorporates features targeted for the petroleum and chemical industries.  New forms, reports, and views necessary to meet the safety and regulatory requirements of API codes and OSHA regulations are now included.

Aware is a web-based application that helps users improve the reliability and safety of equipment by organizing every aspect of inspection activity. It turns complex data into accessible information, helping inspectors, engineers and owners/operators make faster and more accurate run, repair or replace decisions which can reduce the risk of forced shutdowns.

The new version 13.0 of the software offers many time-saving and accurate data management features, among them automatic notifications that alert users via email when certain conditions are met or if certain events occur.  This helps ensure users are kept informed of critical events such as a forced shutdown or failure.  Users can view and edit data in the software from any location using any device including iPads or other tablets.   Aware stores Tmin value calculations (minimum required thickness of piping and other equipment) based on user specified code, material and other critical parameters.  These stored values are easily accessible when required for remaining life calculations.  Risk Based Inspection (RBI) study results can also be stored thus helping users when scheduling RBI inspections.

“Through our experiences, we have learned that certain tools have become overly complex and time consuming to implement for asset integrity management programs, especially for smaller and midsize facilities,” said David Corbett, Regional Director for Industry Services. “The new Aware solution features allow users to better document and report the needs of petroleum and chemical facilities. With these features, companies can receive more information from the dashboards that create an enhanced safety environment while, ultimately, changing the way companies think and use inspection management tools within the industry.”
