Broan-NuTone Canada Inc. Receives ISO 50001 Certification from Intertek
29 Mar 2013
Boxborough, MA – Intertek (LSE: ITRK), a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world, announced that it has certified Broan-NuTone Canada Inc.’s quality management system to ISO 50001:2011.
ISO 50001:2011 establishes a framework for industrial plants, commercial facilities, and entire organizations to manage energy, reduce costs and environmental impact. Broan Nu-Tone is North America’s largest producer of residential ventilation products such as range hoods, and bathroom and ventilation fans. In an effort to further instill energy management best practices and to comply with standards, Broan-NuTone sought certification of the ISO: 50001:2011. This certification affirms that the company’s operations adhere to the internationally-recognized standard for energy management.
“ISO 50001 enables us to demonstrate to our customers and other stakeholders that we as an organization are “walking the talk”. From an internal standpoint, our newly certified ISO 50001 Energy Management System provides us with a set of procedures that outline the who, what, when, and why of energy savings initiatives, which allows our company to achieve the best possible results. Now formal roles and responsibilities are connected across the company; it also formalizes our annual energy consumption review process and formally identifies energy saving opportunities so that they are more likely to be successfully implemented” said John Martinovic, Director of Operations for Broan-NuTone Canada Inc.
Working with Intertek for our ISO 50001 certification was quite easy. Their support through our “Gap Analysis” and through our consecutively scheduled “Stage 1 & 2 Audits” was invaluable” said John Martinovic, Director of Operations for Broan-NuTone Canada Inc.
"It is an honor to award ISO 50001 certification to Broan NuTone Canada's (BNC) Energy Management System,” said Jeff Eves, Intertek’s Green Services Program Manager. “Through its commitment to excellence, BNC has not only realized substantial energy savings but has demonstrated award-winning environmental stewardship through successful implementation of its green strategies.”
