Intertek awards ISO 9001:2008 certificate to Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited

Intertek, a leading global provider of quality and safety solutions, awarded an ISO 9001:2008 certificate to Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited (BEOL) in a ceremony held today at the Westin Hotel in Dhaka.
Mr. David Gregory, vice president of Intertek’s Government Services division, presented the ISO 9001:2008 certificate to Mr. Lee Peng Kwang, general manager of BEOL. Mr. Ronald Biswas, country manager for Intertek Bangladesh, and Mr. Ainul Haque, head of human resources and administration for BEOL, were among the officials and invited guests present at the ceremony.
ISO 9001:2008, Quality management systems -- Requirements, is an international standard that specifies requirements for a Quality Management System (QMS) which meets customers' quality requirements while continually improving operational processes. Since ISO 9001 is neither industry- nor product-specific, it may be used by any organization that provides a product or service.
Intertek has awarded BEOL’s ISO 9001 certification in recognition of their compliance with these quality system requirements, as well as the continual improvement of their processes in the manufacturing and marketing of edible oil and shortening products.
In addition to management systems auditing and certification, Intertek offers a wide range of testing, certification, and training services to the edible oils industry. Services include bulk cargo inspection and quality testing of edible oil products against all food law standards.
