Experts from Intertek’s offshore and upstream sectors attending the 2010 OTC are ready to discuss trends, challenges, projects and potential solutions with conference attendees.

Oilfield Safety and Certification
Intertek experts and facilities provide services to help maintain safe work environments on offshore and land projects. Safety services include ATEX, CEC, IECEX, NEC certifications, flammability and fire resistance certifications, hazardous-area site assessments, potentially explosive atmospheres certification, and related safety expertise.
Offshore Infrastructure Integrity and Vendor Compliance
Intertek offers an extensive range of offshore asset evaluation and protection services to help customers protect their operations, lengthen service life and avoid costly downtime and needless repairs. Infrastructure expertise includes asset and life-cycle integrity management, corrosion control and mediation, failure and forensics analysis, engineering design and verification, project coordination and management, vendor compliance, on-site industrial vendor auditing, expediting and inspection and manpower sourcing.
Materials and Corrosion Testing
Intertek recently expanded its upstream materials and corrosion testing services with a new testing facility at the Westport Technology Center in Houston. The facility offers CO2 corrosion and inhibition testing, corrosion resistant alloys testing, flow accelerated and localized corrosion studies, microbial influenced corrosion testing, sour service expertise, electrochemistry, and chemical analysis.
Exploration and Production Testing, Research and Technical Support
Technical and scientific upstream oil and gas services include oil and gas reservoir evaluations to help increase reservoir production and yield, improve reservoir discovery, and extend reservoir lifespan assets. Offshore technical services include on-site manpower, metering calibration, fiscal allocation, crude oil assay valuation, chemical analysis, hydrocarbon cargo inspection and testing, and much more.
Total Installed Cost and Operational Up-Time
Intertek reduces errors and omissions, man-hours, and overruns through Dimensional Control Management, Laser Scanning and other accurate “as-built” data collection technologies. From fabrication through installation and operation - Intertek provides procedures for and evaluation of fabricators’ dimensional quality assurance methods - auditing fabrication, aiding installation and ensuring that components will fit the first time.
