Electric Vehicles, inherently quieter than ICE vehicles, present the industry with some unique NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) challenges. On one hand, with EVs the interior noises that have been historically masked by the engine and exhaust sounds are now more easily noticed and bothersome to consumers and could become potential warranty claims.

On the other hand, since electric vehicles make very little exterior noise while driving they pose a risk due to the "lack of warning" when they approach. This on-demand presentation discusses the unique testing methods and facilities needed to perform these necessary NVH tests on all vehicles.

During the presentation, some of the many topics covered include:

  • Methods and measurements for BSR (Buzz, Squeak and Rattle) testing
  • Unique fixturing needs for BSR test samples
  • Updates and differences in the latest Drive-by noise standards and regulations
  • Methods and measurement of Drive-by noise testing at the vehicle level
  • And more!
