China – 2018 Updated Textile and Footwear Standards List

The standardization administration of the People’s Republic of China recently published announcement No. 32 of 2017 with updates to textiles and footwear standards. The 2018 list includes some important updates to product standards and test methods for apparel, such as GB/T 2664-2017 “Men’s suits and coats,” GB/T 2665-2017 “Women’s suits and coats,” GB/T 21980-2017 “Current technical criterion for sportswear and exposure suit” and GB/T 22044-2017 “Location and method of infants’ anthropometric surveys for garments.” It also includes some new product standards for apparel, such as GB/T 35270-2017 “Baby carriers,” GB/T 35448-2017 “Baby walking strap” and GB/T 35458-2017 “Costumes.” Also included are updated test methods for footwear, such as GB/T 2703-2017 “Footwear – vocabulary,” GB/T 3293-2017 “Chinese last systems” and GB/T 3903.1-2017 “Footwear – General test methods – Flexing resistance.” The key updated standards and test methods are summarized below:
