Intertek can quickly and cost-effectively expedite the field labeling process to secure the approval of your local or state inspector.
When an inspector or building official “red tags” an unlabeled product, that product may not be operated until all applicable product safety requirements have been met. Intertek performs field labeling services of unlabeled electrical/gas equipment, fire doors and frames, and windows. In fact, we can provide NEXT DAY SERVICE to most areas of the U.S. and Canada.
Intertek is recognized throughout North America for field evaluation services and recognized by OSHA (as an NRTL), ANSI and the model building code agencies for product safety certification.
Electrical and Gas Powered Products
Intertek will evaluate your product quickly, and assist you in obtaining approval of Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). With inspectors across the U.S. and Canada, we’ll quickly respond to your field labeling request.
Field Labeling in the U.S.
Once your equipment is found to be in compliance, the ETL Field Evaluated label will be applied. The ETL Field Evaluated Mark tells inspectors that your product complies with nationally accepted standards. It will also reflect your unique serial number that is recorded in your report. If you have a question regarding your equipment, your serial number enables us to access your information quickly. For immediate assistance, call our hotline at 1-800-967-5352.
Special Inspections in Canada
Intertek offers NEXT DAY Special Inspections to CSA SPE-1000 for Electrical Equipment in Canada. Products found to comply with SPE-1000 are labeled on the spot with the ETL Mark. We also offer Gas Special Inspections to help clients comply with CSA B149.3 for fast field-labelling of fuel-related components on appliances and equipment.
Intertek also provides field labeling of unlabeled food service equipment in restaurants, hotels and other establishments. We can label your food equipment for sanitation and/or safety.
Fire Doors, Frames, and Windows
Intertek provides field labeling of fire doors, frames and windows. By having your fire doors or openings labeled with our Warnock Hersey (WH) Mark prior to inspection, inspectors can review their checklist and provide you with a state of readiness for your facility.
