Sanitation Testing to ANSI and NSF Standards

As an ANSI-accredited certfication body, we perform sanitation testing and certification services of food service equipment according to ANSI/NSF standards, guiding you to market in the most efficient manner possible.

Before your food service equipment can be sold in North America it must comply with applicable NSF sanitation standards which are recognized by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The sanitation standards we test to include:

ANSI/NSF 2      ANSI/NSF 6       ANSI/NSF 18      ANSI/NSF 59
ANSI/NSF 3 ANSI/NSF 7  ANSI/NSF 25
ANSI/NSF 4 ANSI/NSF 8 ANSI/NSF 50
ANSI/NSF 5 ANSI/NSF 12 ANSI/NSF 51

Once your product has met the applicable requirements our proprietary ETL Sanitation Mark will be issued, demonstrating compliance to these standards and allowing your product to be sold throughout North America. In addition, the ETL Sanitation Mark indicates that the manufacturer's production site conforms to a range of compliance measures and is subject to a periodic regimen of follow-up inspections to verify continued conformance.  An ETL Sanitation mark indicates that equipment is fit for use in the production of food intended for human consumption or the equipment is fit for use in an environment where food intended for human consumption is produced.

Concurrent Safety and Sanitation Testing
Intertek issues both the ETL Listed Mark and ETL Sanitation marks, which demonstrate compliance to North American product safety standards and required sanitation standards, respectively. By receiving both marks through one local source, manufacturers benefit with money and time savings. In addition, for both testing and certification regimen, only one sample is required. Required annual follow up inspections to demonstrate ongoing compliance to both sanitation and product safety standards may be conducted in a single inspection.
