ETL Certification Program for Industrial Control Panels (ICP)
Intertek's ETL Panel Shop Program offers a more flexible and convenient approach to panel certification for manufacturers who custom-build or mass-produce ICPs.
Whether you produce basic wall- or machine-mounted panels, floor-mounted with buss bar panels, elevator control panels, or other specific applications, Intertek has the experience, resources and engineering team to meet the standards for your panels and components based on your needs.
Panel Shop Testing Standards
- UL 508A
- CSA C22.2 No. 14
ETL Mark
Once you participate in our Panel Shop certification program and your products comply with the necessary requirements, they are eligible to bear our ETL Listed Mark. You will also be featured in our Directory of Listed Products confirming your right to apply the ETL Listed Mark.
Advantage of ETL Certification
- Greater Choice in Component Sourcing: You can source any NRTL approved or recognized components, unlike with our competitors programs as well as those already permitted under the scope of the ICP program.
- Fulfilled Requirements: Using ETL Listed or recognized components in an ICP does not guarantee or imply that the entire assembly meets all applicable safety requirements. The ETL Panel Shop covers proper component usage, enclosure environmental ratings, and conformance to the National Electric Code (NEC), Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), wiring and motor protection, and safety markings.
- Efficiency: Avoid costly delays by eliminating red-tagged panels at the job site.
- Flexibility: The panels you build may be part of a machine or device, or they may be stand-alone panels. They may be intended for use in virtually any non-hazardous location.
- Acceptance: Our ETL Listed Mark is accepted by regulatory authorities in every jurisdiction in the United State and Canada.
- Product Compliance for Use in Hazardous Locations
Ongoing Conformity of Industrial Control Panels
Our qualified engineers will conduct unannounced on-site audits at least four times per year, more frequently if label usage is high or if you have special projects requiring our support. During our audits, we inspect your manufacturing practices and panels destined to carry the ETL Listed Mark.
If you are building a limited number of panels or already have some in the field, Intertek will make the conformity process easier for you by conducting field evaluations at the installation site and issue an ETL Field Evaluated Mark.
