IECEx Scheme Certification

Intertek can test and certify your equipment to meet the requirements of the IECEx Scheme and provide access to 30+ member countries through one IECEx test report.

The IECEx Scheme facilitates international trade of equipment and services intended for use in explosive atmosphere environments. The system’s primary objectives include cutting certification costs, speeding turnarounds, providing one international database listing, and building and maintaining international confidence in the product assessment process. IECEx requires that electrical equipment demonstrates conformity to IEC 79 series standards prepared by IEC TC31, which will result in an Ex Test Report (Ex TR).

The IECEx test report acts as a foundation for certification in regions that accept and recognize the Scheme. This means that for products destined for multiple markets, you save time and money by reducing the amount of testing required for each individual market.

Once manufacturers have obtained an IECEx Assessment and Test Report (ATR), the report will be recognized and accepted by Certification Bodies (ACB’s) in other participating countries, and manufacturers are free to begin marking their products.
