Effective January 2015, flat-plate photovoltaic (PV) modules and panels sold in California must comply with the updated regulations in safety standard ANSI/UL 1703 for fire resistance testing. On January 1, 2016, compliance is required throughout the United States. These changes may require manufacturers to incorporate new and different testing procedures, or to re-test previously tested products.
