PV System Fire Resistance Testing to ANSI/UL 1703

Revised ANSI/UL 1703 Standard May Require New Fire Testing of PV Products

Effective January 2015, flat-plate photovoltaic (PV) modules and panels sold in California must comply with the updated regulations in safety standard ANSI/UL 1703 for fire resistance testing. On January 1, 2016, compliance is required throughout the United States. These changes may require manufacturers to incorporate new and different testing procedures, or to re-test previously tested products.

Intertek’s webinar on “Photovoltaic Panel and Module Fire Resistance Testing to ANSI/UL 1703,” provided a detailed review of the new regulations and key points for manufacturers regarding testing and compliance.
