In the Philippines, Intertek started its operation in 1978 under the name of Labtest International Textile Testing and Evaluation Center. It was only until the late ‘80s when the company decided to adopt the international corporate image, thus the name Inchcape Testing Services Philippines, Inc. came about. In October 1996, Inchcape was acquired by the British Financing Institution, Charter House, which then changed the corporate name to INTERTEK TESTING SERVICES worldwide. In 2005, a branch was set-up in the US Territory of Guam which covers mainly Caleb Brett operations.
