Bunker Fuel Adulterant Testing ISO 8217
Bunker Fuel Testing to detect fuel adulterants and contamination, per Section 5 of ISO 8217:2005.
Bunker fuel should not contain added substances or chemical waste products, per section 5 of ISO-8217:2005. Adulterated Bunker Fuel can jeopardize the safety of ships or adversely affect the performance of machinery, may prove harmful to personnel and contribute additional air pollution. Adulerated bunker fuel incidents in the past few years suggest that marine bunker fuels have on occasion been adulterated with chemical waste products such as styrene, chlorinated solvents and other volatile solvents.
