Intertek Expands into Cushing to Support Growing Demand for Crude Oil Testing Services

Cushing, OK – Intertek, the leading global provider of safety and quality services to a wide range of industries, has opened a new petroleum laboratory in Cushing, Oklahoma, providing key crude oil quality testing and inspection services for Cushing pipeline and storage clients.
The Cushing facility is a major hub for crude oil storage and pipeline distribution in North America. Cushing stores around 15% of the USA's crude oil supply, approximately 58 million barrels, and is the main intersection for ten major crude oil and additional refined products pipelines.
Testing, inspection and calibration technical services are provided to oil and gas customers at the Intertek Cushing laboratory. CME/NYMEX crude oil quality parameter testing is offered, along with recommended additional NYMEX quality parameters. Technical expertise includes: testing and inspection of crude oil and residual fuels; sampling of tanks and pipelines, tank inventories and calibration; metering and calibration, API 653 tank condition inspection, CPW (certified public weld) inspection; and DOT and IATA protocol sample expediting and shipping.
