Carolina Venditti, Ph.D., Scientific & Regulatory Consultant, Food & Nutrition Group

Dr. Venditti is a Scientific and Regulatory Consultant within the Food and Nutrition business group at Intertek Scientific and Regulatory Consultancy. She acts as a scientific advisor to national and international food and dietary supplement companies on scientific and regulatory matters. She oversees the completion of scientific evidence-based systematic reviews on food-health associations.  Dr. Venditti provides critical interpretation of strengths and gaps in scientific evidence to support health claims.
 
Dr. Venditti applies her expert knowledge of North American and European health claim substantiation standards and her proficiency in the conduct of systematic reviews to critically evaluate whether a body of scientific evidence substantiates claims on novel foods, dietary supplements, and natural health products. She has prepared submissions and notifications for review by global regulatory agencies and organizations including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Health Canada, the U.K. Food Safety Agency (FSA), the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), and the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) including health claim, Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS), New Dietary Ingredient (NDI), Novel Food, and Product License Application notifications.
 
Dr. Venditti holds a Ph.D in Biomedical & Molecular Sciences and Masters of Science in Anatomy & Cell Biology from Queen’s University in Kingston, ON.  She belongs to the Association of Women in Science and has had several scientific publications relating to preeclampsia and pregnancy.
