Pre-Shipment Inspection for Exports to the Philippines
Bulk or break bulk shipments of cargo that are being sent to The Philippines now need an inspection for Quality, Quantity and Dutiable Value.
The Customs Authority of the Republic of The Philippines have approved legislation which introduces fundamental changes to the importation procedures for bulk or break bulk shipments that are destined for The Philippines.
It is mandatory for these shipments to undergo an inspection for Quality, Quantity and Dutiable Value at the port of origin by an surveying company approved by The Philippines Government. Intertek has been accredited by the Government of the Philippines as an approved surveying companies and can assist you in ensuring your shipments meet the necessary requirements and so take advantage of Advanced Clearance Procedures.
Expansion of Bulk and Break-Bulk Programme
The Philippines Bureau of Customs (BOC) has informed Intertek of its intention to expand the scope of the Bulk and Break-Bulk Cargo Programme with a provisional start date in August 2014, however this has now been delayed due to operational issues at the Port of Manilla.
The expansion of the current bulk/break bulk cargo clearance programme will now cover all containerized cargo arriving at, or destined for, the Philippines.
Intertek has been accredited by the BOC to carry out the necessary surveys and inspections of the cargo and provide the mandatory report required for Customs clearance.
Further details will be provided upon confirmation of the start date by BOC
